Tracing the natural and human history of Tasmania from its ancient past to the present, this institution also contains galleries of colonial and contemporary Australian, European, Middle Eastern and Asian art.
Normal opening hours are 10am – 5pm. General admission is free.

Jao Tsung I: The Amalgamation of Mind and Universe
Featuring paintings, calligraphy scrolls and poetry, this exhibition showcases the 94 year old Chinese artist's impressive body of work.

Drawing from the Gallery's collections, the post-modern influence on 80s art is on show in this exhibition of objects and images from Australian and international artists.
