The Art Gallery of Western Australia

With a special emphasis on the art of the Indian Ocean region, the Gallery also contains art from Western Australia, Indigenous Australia and art from around the world. It is located in the restaurant and cafe district of Perth's CBD.

Normal opening hours are 10am – 5pm, closed on Tuesdays. General admission is free.

Abstract Earth: The Photography of Richard Woldendorp

Featuring the aerial photography of Australia's Richard Woldendorp taken over a 50 year period, the Australian outback, her coastlines and man made structures are on display from unique and intriguing viewpoints.

On display 1 August – 8 November. Free entry.

Western Australian Indigenous Art Awards 2009

Founded in 2008 to celebrate the varied and rich Indigenous art from across Australia, this exhibition displays the works of 15 Indigenous artists selected as finalists.

On display 25 July – 15 November. Free entry.

Artist in Focus: Mari Funaki, Works 1992 – 2009

Including nearly 50 works from leading Australian jeweller Mari Funaki, this exhibition focuses on her rings, bracelets and containers.

Artist in Focus: David Walker, Anatomy of the Object

Inspired by the Australian climate and environment, David Walker's renowned jewellery is on show in this exhibition.

Western Australian Museum

Established in 1891, its collections number nearly two and a half million specimens and artefacts. It is located at 49 Beaufort Street in Perth's cultural precinct.
